Japanese Hotpot

Written by Erene

Hotpot is an Asian cuisine where a metal pot containing soup is simmered while thin slices of raw meat, vegetables and seafood are placed into the pot to be cook (Wu et al. 2012). The cooked food in the hotpot is usually enjoyed by dipping it into a variety of sauces (Wu et al. 2012).

Steamboat is always the best option during cold weathers.
We decided to eat our lunch at Bushido last Friday because of the rain.
We were so lucky as we went in this place during lunch hour so we managed get their lunch promotion!

Special Pork Belly Set (Top) & Special Pork Shoulder Shabu Set

Wei Ling and I ordered two Special Pork Shoulder Shabu set (RM 17.90) while another friend ordered Special Pork Belly Shabu set (RM 18.90) from the Super Value Lunch menu.
We can choose our favorite base soup for free. I choose Bushido Grains Macha Milk Broth as my base soup (for this particular soup base though, I had to add on another RM5).
This Macha Milk is really nice. Personally, I don't eat any Macha (I hate it) but the taste of Macha in this soup is not heavy at all.
Wei Ling also ordered a Fried Chicken Wing (Bottom left in the picture above) which is only RM 9.90! Too bad the chicken wing was spicy, so I couldn't tried it. I just can't take spicy food.

Vegetarian Shabu Set A

We Ting is a vegetarian, so she ordered a vegetarian shabu set (RM 19.90).

The portion for vegetarian set is large.

You can choose your preferred sauce from here!
You can choose only one or mix and match the sauces.
For me, I love the sesame sauce, do give it a try! It is really, really nice.

After they served the soups, we waited for the meats and vegetables for another 30 mins to be served. There were only few tables of customers (some of them already started to eat when we walked in). We don't know what took the kitchen staff so long to prepare our food.

Still, the food is nice and the environment is cozy.
The staff are helpful, it's just that the food preparation process is slow.
This is an ideal place to have a family gathering (they provide meal sets for 5-6 person also).
