If this is the first time you're visiting JB, there's one place you must go. We assure you, you won't regret it. Located in the town area (near City Square), Hiap Joo Bakery & Biscuit Factory is a local bakery well-known in both JB people and Singaporean.

We highly recommend the Coconut Buns and Banana Cake. Once you've tasted it, you would definitely come
back to the bakery again for that! The aroma of the bakery's freshly baked banana cakes is simply irresistible. A cake fresh from the oven would make your mouth water involuntarily.
The sweet smell is tempting. You would want to cut queue, rush into the shop and carry boxes and boxes of banana cakes home. Do be mentally prepared for a long queue if you're visiting on a weekend! Personally, I live quite far from the town area, but I would purposely drive a good 14km just to buy a banana cake home 😆.
The prices they charge are reasonable.
5 coconut buns - RM4.80
Banana cake (small box) - RM4.80
Banana cake (big box) - RM9.60

If you love spicy food, you don't want to miss out the Curry Potato, Otak-otak, Sambal Ikan Bilis and Sardine. All the prices are below RM5!

Even if you attempt to beat everyone else by driving there early in the morning, you're still going to see people waiting outside the bakery already when you're still trying to find a parking space. Trust me, I tried.
Be patient. Their service is real quick. While you wait, pray that the banana cakes and buns aren't sold out when it's finally your turn. :')
