Japanese Lunch at Kawa Mount Austin

Written by We Ting

In Malaysia, every shopping mall has at least one of its lots occupied by a Japanese restaurant (Tey et al. 2018).
A reason for this popularity is that people often have the impression that Japanese food is healthy. For instance, the vinegar-coated rice used in sushi promotes digestion (Tey et al. 2018).

When we have a long free period before afternoon classes begin, one of the Japanese restaurants we love to visit is Kawa.

It's a little far, walking from college all the way to the shop. We pass by probably two dozens other shops just to get there, but the set lunch promotions they offer are just simply too good.

What do I mean by "good"? Allow me to show you.

For a fried rice set at RM9.90, you'll get all this:

Here's the list, clockwise from top left:

HI STYLE's Fun, Casual Fashion

Written by We Ting

Histyle is a contrast to my post last month on Vero Moda, but it's definitely a store that will attract young adults and teenagers.

Whereas Vero Moda's are more refined, the clothing at Histyle are fun and its pieces often have unique cut-outs. The colors of the clothing mainly come in tones of black, white, and for girls, I often notice a hint of pink or red.

A Hidden Ramen Restaurant

Written by Wei Ling

宝贝の拉麵

This is my first visit to an open-air Japanese restaurant. It might seem to be the least outstanding among the Japanese restaurants we all went before but the taste of the food is very good!

Fairy Boutique

Fairy Boutique

This boutique is located at Taman Impian Emas, which is very near to my house. One day, I went for a random visit at this boutique because I like to look at different style of clothes! Just for a small reminder, you have to take off your shoes before entering this boutique.

Delicious, Creamy Mille Crêpes You Can't Resist: Humble Beginnings

Written by We Ting

Nowadays, cafés and restaurants that are completely unheard of seem to be mushrooming everywhere. Most of the food look delicious and Insta-worthy, but nope, I'm a picky dessert eater. I know there's something lacking in that piece of cake or that there's something not right with the texture of a tart.

When it comes to Malaysian desserts, this ice kacang here and cendol here are my only picks.

Today's post, however, will be about mille crêpes. A crêpe is a very thin bakery product. Flour, egg, sugar and lipids are the main ingredients for crêpes (Guibert-Martin et al. 2017).

Where to get the best ones in JB?

A Finger Licking Good Chinese Restaurant

Fei Lao Meng Seafood Restaurant

I enjoyed my dinner at this restaurant very much. We can choose to sit inside the restaurant or outdoor. The inside of the restaurant was quite hot but their service was pretty good throughout the meal.

Mixed Brand Fashion Store

Written by Wei Ling

GOOD2U

This is one of the fashion stores that I would like to recommend the most! I went to this store and I found out that different famous clothing brands can be found at this store. For example, GAP and H&M. Surprisingly, the price of the clothes are sold at a very low price!

Japanese Hotpot

Written by Erene

Hotpot is an Asian cuisine where a metal pot containing soup is simmered while thin slices of raw meat, vegetables and seafood are placed into the pot to be cook (Wu et al. 2012). The cooked food in the hotpot is usually enjoyed by dipping it into a variety of sauces (Wu et al. 2012).

Steamboat is always the best option during cold weathers.
We decided to eat our lunch at Bushido last Friday because of the rain.
We were so lucky as we went in this place during lunch hour so we managed get their lunch promotion!

An International Luxury Brand Inspired by Italian Artwork

Written by Wei Ling

BONIA

During the weekend, I went to City Square shopping mall in Johor Bahru. I spotted this shop, and I entered the shop to look around. I thought BONIA an international brand but actually it is a Malaysian brand which focus fashion retailing, manufacturing and marketing in branded leather goods. It also has 185 boutiques and 1200 sales outlets around the world (Saw 2017).
